Berg nao de Berg fietst 17.640 euro bijeen voor KWF
Het team Berg nao de Berg 2.0 , bestaande uit John Smeets (60) uit Sint Odiliënberg en Jack Mestrom (54) uit ’t Reutje, heeft met deelname aan de actiedag Alpe d’HuZes 17.640 euro opgehaald voor KWF Kankerbestrijding.
Het tweetal stapte donderdag om ’s nachts om 3.30 uur op de fiets om de Alpe d'Huez te beklimmen. Uiteindelijk wist John de 13,8 kilometer lange route met een stijgingspercentage van 7,9 % vijf keer te bedwingen, terwijl Jack de Alpenreus zes keer op fietste. “Het was een geweldige en emotionele dag waarop alles klopte”, vertelt Jack. “Alle voorbereidingen, trainingen, acties; het was het allemaal meer dan waard.”
Het tweetal dankt iedereen die op welke manier dan ook ons heeft bijgedragen aan het slagen van het avontuur.
